C Blog 10th Anniversary

It was ten years ago today that I made the first post on this blog.

Consistently, I have posted new Lessons every Saturday and new Exercises on the first of the month. Without checking facts, that’s 520 Lessons and 120 Exercises.

Thank you for visiting.

And the blog keeps going . . .

  1. As a (registered) member of only 2 months, until now (while I knew of the “… for Dummies” series, of course) I wasnʼt aware of the fact, that youʼve been maintaining this blog for that long.

    Really impressive – congratulations!

  2. Thanks.

I start the blog for two reasons. The first is to provide fresh content for readers. The second is to keep me up to speed with C. Forcing me to write new code and explore features on a weekly basis helps hone my skills.

  3. Sorry for this somewhat late reply — I had quite a busy day yesterday!

For me itʼs quite the same. Iʼve always enjoyed coding in “C”, and for projects in my free time itʼs quite often my first language of choice.

Now, with Rust and Nim there may finally be strong contenders in the systems programming field… but moving forward with C23 (and future standards) I think that while “C” may be an old dog, itʼs one that has many more years of relevancy left in it still!

With that in mind, a toast to the next 10 years of this blog & your books ☺
